The main objective of the project is to modify the IUPUI English Department’s website. The client is hoping for a more engaging and lively site with interactive pages. The task is to create a few more blank pages and rename some pages and captions as specified by client. The client is responsible for adding text to the newly created pages, but needs training on how to move and create pages. Since this is a live site (already published), downtime has to be minimized.
The website has 3 levels differentiated by colors. 1st Level is marked in purple, 2nd level marked in dark blue and 3rd level marked in white blue color. A meeting with the client is set for Tuesday, June 3, 2014 to further discuss client expectations. Research has been done on IUPUI liberal arts Content Management System. Since IUPUI uses Expression Engine, significant time was spent going through the tutorials and watching YouTube videos on Expression Engine software. Project execution will resume as soon as appropriate credentials to access site on Expression Engine are issued!
I was granted appropriate credentials and started working on editing the website after familiarizing with Expression Engine. The whole process was challenging and exciting at the same time. I was able to learn a lot and got comfortable with expression engine. The above areas has been addressed and just a few glitches that needs attention.
