The Netflow project started in May for an Indianapolis University, the idea were to develop a method on how to capture and monitor network traffic. The school wanted information on how to visualize their network traffic to balance usage, improve network load and reduce bottlenecks on their network. The project goals are outline as follows,
- Meet and discuss with client on expectations and goals.
- Research methods on how to install and configure Netflow.
- Install software to collect traffic data.
- Install or configure Netflow on a router or switch.
- Install and configure software on router to collect data from ports.
The project is completed and the University can implement the working solution to start utilizing the benefits.
